Shamanic Counselling
Don’t be afraid of change, it will happen anyway.
Might as well as do it together with your Soul and in Connection with your Power / Life Force.
What is shamanic counselling?
Shamanic Counselling is Soul Work. It is about feeling at home in the world. It is about being connected to your Power/Life Force in your everyday life. In many ways Shamanic Counselling is not that unlike Birth Work. In both, the client journeys towards change and transformation, and in both the counsellor’s task is to bring the client back with empowerment and felt understanding of the experience and its teachings in ways that the client can integrate these into their daily life.
Who is shamanic counselling for?
When people come to a shamanic counsellor, they are usually ready to step into change.
Perhaps you need help or advice for a particular issue in your life (e.g to sleep better, dealing with a bodily injury, building a loving relationship, finding a new job, ending a project…) or you might need healing for a particular physical or emotional pain. As a shamanic counsellor, I first help you to formulate your precise journey mission/intention in such a way that it can be brought to the Spirits. (It is not uncommon that the client’s initial journey intention changes in the most unexpected of ways during the initial session with the shamanic counsellor). After the journey to the Spirits, the counsellor keeps guiding the client towards a felt understanding of their journey and its teachings, in relation to the formulated journey mission/intention.
What can Shamanic Counselling do for you?
Empower you.
Bring you into a deeper connection with yourself and your needs.
Bring change into your everyday life in concrete ways.
Show you what your Soul needs for you to thrive.
Teach you to hear your Soul.
Teach you to stand in your power / life force.
Give you a felt understanding about the question/s you have.
Teach you how to live a more harmonious life.
…and so much more to help you live your best life.
Good to Know:
It is good to commit to a number of sessions (approx. 3-4 if you have previous journey experience and 3-5 if you if you have no previous journey experience).
It is good to schedule approx. 4-6 weeks between sessions so that you have time to live with your shamanic journey and its teachings. Thus, allowing time for the integration of the teachings into your everyday life before your next session. This time in between sessions is as important as the sessions themselves, and it will help you to feel and move with the changes that arise from your journey work.
Shamanic counselling is generally for people who already have a shamanic journey practice. However, if you don’t have journey experience, as your shamanic counsellor, I will teach you. In this case, you’ll need to reserve a few more sessions to allow time for this learning to take place first before working on the aspect of your life you wish to improve / receive help with.
The real counselling work takes place between the client and their Spirit helpers, while the shamanic counsellor’s task is to:
Support the client to come back from their journey with power/life force and felt understanding about their mission:
Deepen the client’s understanding of their journey through specific questions;
Distill teachings and advice from the client’s journey;
Offer follow-up steps to the client on how they can further work with their journey.Shamanic Counselling is more-than-human work. While it is not therapy, it can lead to therapeutic outcomes as the client learns to stand in their power.
Just as with my doula work, I honour the core ethical principles of: Respect for the client’s autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, dignity, confidentiality and a deep commitment to de-colonial-, social- and ecological justice.
My way of shamanic work aligns with the vision and ethics of Scandinavian Centre for Shamanic Studies.
